Have camera. Will travel. When I was a teenager my dad brought home a fancy new camera; a Nikon Coolpix 950. I had never seen anything like it—not only was the swivel hinge lens completely out of the ordinary, the camera was digital—no film required! I had always enjoyed taking photos while on our family trips, using those disposable cameras that housed a roll of 35mm film in a plastic case covered in card-stock paper. But now having the ability to take an unlimited number of photos, deleting the bad ones, then editing and adding effects on the good ones, all without wasting film—this was revolutionary! I played with the camera for hours, taught myself a few tricks in Adobe Photoshop, and discovered online communities like DeviantArt where I could share my creations and learn from other photographers. Over the years I've explored both film and digital photography, always trying to improve my skills and find beautiful images to capture. Fast-forward to the present day where I have thousands of photos sitting dormant on hard drives—that's partly what drove me to create this website. Just to have a little corner of the world wide web where at least some of those photos from my adventures could live and, hopefully, be appreciated by people like you.
